Deputy General Counsel
Kimberly E. Troland, JD, has been the Deputy General Counsel at Dartmouth Health for 10 years, overseeing day-to-day legal operations and building a talented team of in-house attorneys to support the expanding health system. Bringing more than 25 years of regulatory and transactional experience in healthcare to her work, she has advised on an expansive array of legal issues to support the organization’s response to the extraordinary challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, from legal support for initiatives related to new vaccines and therapeutics to telehealth matters and the transition to a remote workforce.
Troland has been repeatedly recognized as an "engagement champion," a distinction awarded to high-impact leaders at Dartmouth Health who create a positive experience for team members and inspire others to work collaboratively and creatively.
Prior to joining Dartmouth Health in 2012, Troland was counsel in Robinson & Cole’s health law practice for 4 years, where she represented hospitals and physicians in the Boston area on a wide variety of healthcare matters. Prior to that, Troland practiced for more than a decade at Tufts Medical Center, serving as Associate General Counsel at Tufts Medical Center and as General Counsel to its affiliated community and academic physician network, New England Quality Care Alliance.
Troland received her JD degree from University of Connecticut School of Law and her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Tufts University. She studied international law at Exeter University in England during law school, and history and political science at the Corvinus University of Budapest as an undergraduate. She worked at the American Chamber of Commerce in Budapest prior to law school.
