Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Chief Financial Officer and SVP of Finance
Wendy E. Fielding, MBA, was appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer for Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics and SVP of Finance in December 2021. In addition to her responsibilities related to the financial health of DHMC and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics, Fielding also has responsibility for the integration of financial planning across all Dartmouth Health system members.
Fielding joined DHMC and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics in 2009 as the Vice President of Financial Planning, with oversight of business and analytical decision support, the annual financial planning and budget process, and development of the organization's long-term financial plan. She played an important role in DHMC and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic's financial turnaround in 2017-18 and in more recent years, has assumed an increasing level of responsibility for DHMC and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics financial issues. She collaborates closely with the DHMC and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics leadership team to provide financial support for strategic decisions from preliminary vetting through governance approval, most recently for significant expansion projects on DHMC and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic's Lebanon and Manchester campuses.
An avid learner and teacher, Fielding shares her knowledge and perspective with leaders across the system by teaching the fundamentals of healthcare finance in the "Leading at Dartmouth Health" leadership development program. She is a 2019 Carol Emmott Fellow and has a particular interest in supporting women leaders to advance their healthcare careers and to ultimately transform healthcare.
Prior to joining DHMC and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics, Fielding held positions as the Chief Financial Officer at Mount Desert Island Hospital in Bar Harbor, Maine, and as the Director of Financial Reporting & Analysis at Boston Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Bentley University in Waltham, MA. A longstanding member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, she currently serves on the Board of New London Hospital in New London, New Hampshire. Fielding previously served on the Board of Cheshire Medical Center.
